Nurse Jacintha Saldanha discovered dead after a prank call

Jacintha Saldanha, 46, pictured atop, is an old nurse who was said to have committed suicide three days after being a victim of a hoax caller pretending to be the Queen.
She was found dead on Friday morning in the nurses’ accommodation at the hospital. Mrs Saldanha, three days prior to her death, was manning the hospital switchboard where Kate Middleton was taken to for acute morning sickness when she received a call from two Australian radio presenters – Mel Greig and Michael Christian,  impersonating the Queen and Prince Charles. They were transferred to the Duchess’s ward and broadcast confidential information given to them by a second nurse. Friends said Mrs Saldanha took the incident very badly when the prank was broadcast, despite the fact she wasn't in any way blamed for what happened.

Her family and friends are devasted and an autopsy is to be carried out today.
May her soul rest in peace

  1. the RJ's must be charged with the crime of abatement to commit suicide & must be strictly dealt with. its high time that the so called fourth pillar of democracy 'media' acknowledges its responsibilities. in my opinion the embarrassing affect of the prank was very much foreseeable. these crocodile tears are not going to bring the poor soul back in this mortal world. they should be imprisoned in addition to be banned from serving in the industry for life time. even these RJ's must pay for the prank..........the poor girl paid with her life. damn....i m utterly disgusted.

  2. U just said it all Hindy, u just did. As if u read our minds. The TV show should b banned. Others who are fond of playing 'expensive' pranks all in the name of fun should be very careful.

  3. I totally acquiesce to Hindi's opinion. Justice must be served and served right to the affected personnel. It's quite unfortunate that the poor nurse lost her life.
